Thanksgiving is just days away and December holidays are creeping up on us fast! The stores have been holiday buzzing since Halloween. What is your plan for gift-giving this year? I know, I know, you said you would start early and here we are. Let me take your stress away so you can enjoy the gift-giving experience.
Step #1, Create a List
There is a reason it works so well for Santa!
Make a list of all the special people in your life that you want to spread holiday cheer to. Include their name (obviously) and then make a sub-list of their personality. What makes them special? What are their hobbies? What are their likes and dislikes? What is really important to them? What are their funny quarks? Favorite colors? What are their sizes? You get the idea.

Step #2, Make a Plan
Look at the calendar and check the dates you need to have your gifts delivered or picked up by. Then, work backwards. Schedule blocks on your calendar to spend short bursts of time to do Step #3…the research. If you sprinkle ten or fifteen minutes here and there you won’t feel rushed. You’ll be able to think clearly and feel the joy of the giving experience.
Step #3, Brainstorm and Research
What ideas can you come up with on your own? When you’ve exhausted that, do some online research. Google is your friend! As ideas pop into your head, write them down under each person you think would love it.
If you are the type that loves to have a paper list, make sure you take a picture of it with your phone. Papers do get lost! Otherwise, a great tip is to use a list or task app. This works out well because most likely you’ll always have your phone with you. If you are out and about you can easily capture ideas instantly.
